I've added to my blog a post showing that OIP Attorney Linden Joesting, when asked point-blank on Feb 22nd whether Miss Tickly's understanding that Obama's BC was amended is correct, refused to correct MT's understanding. After 2 days of asking for clarification on the question, she responded 3 days later by saying she didn't have time to answer the question. The "Vexatious Requestor Bill" is moving forward. The Office of Taxation wants to fine people who are labeled "vexatious requestors" and Fukino has said there are 4-6 people who are all set to be labeled this. I am certain I am one of them. This year, more Americans and businesses may be asking: Where's my tax refund? That's because cash-strapped states such as North Carolina, Alabama and Hawaii have been forced to slow down issuing income tax refunds to individuals and businesses because of a lack of funds in their budget. Kansas has hinted that a delay might be possible, and processing paper refunds in Iowa has slowed because the state doesn't haven't enough employees to get them processed faster. The Post & Email is reporting tonight that the Hawaii Dept. of Health has sent them a pdf file with a list of births on a computer print out. Obama's birth is not on it. A 8.8 Richter scale earthquake hit early this morning in the city of Concepcion, the second largest city in Chile. The earthquake shook the ground for up to a minute in many places, though there are scattered reports that the earthquake lasted 3 minutes is some regions. Apparently in response to this blog post and a request for a legislative investigation of these matters, Hawaii State Senator Will Espero has introduced a bill that would allow the OIP to label people who ask too many questions as “vexatious requestors” who are then blacklisted from access to government records for 2 years. The net effect of the bill would be to overturn UIPA.
